VANUATU: Their national Identify and mystical beliefs

Vanuatu is a set of islands in Pacific Ocean, this archipelago is conformed by 83 islands in “ Y” forma. These country is known as a Eternal Land for their customs and cultures. But, their first characteristic is the people cultural identify and the way they show their life-style.


Vanuatu’s pristine population fell very proud of its customs and mysterious rituals, that’s why they promote their traditions between the tourist that visited them. They have a Pentecostes’ jump that if you are lucky enough of being in Vanuatu, you will have an unforgettable experience. On the other hand, the people of this country live in such a nice way that they transmitted the harmony to the foreings, for this reason, natives teach the real magic of the island: Happiness. Due to the above, in 2006 year these countries were declared as the happiest place in the world.


Also, when there is a huge tourist’s group in the island, the natives try to act what they think is the magic meaning. They do rituals where they dance and sing amazing songs and they do delightful sculptures for their ancestors’ spirits and they sell these sculptures to visitants and they can take a souvenir home. The Vanuatus’ inhabitant realice these rituals with foreings because they want to teach them about the impressive connection between the spirits and Vanuatu’s aborigine and in this way, show their culture to the world.


In addition, Vanuatu’s government is formed by tribues’ bosses forms each one 83 islands of the country and they have been concern to protect their precious customs, for this, they have created laws political tools, for example the native groups have all liberty to perform all their beliefs except the cannibalism (this exist until 1980). Into these politics methods have been search wonderful strategies in order to, since they are kids, the natives can continue the oral traditions and the natural customs would not extinguish by the external influences like christianism.


In conclusion, Vanuatu’s people are proud of their beliefs and they are no afraid of show them to the people that come for a trip. They use representations similar to an occidental play. Also, to protect this values, the government has created different laws to continue the tradition. For this reason, cultural identity of the Vanuatu’s people is an enormous and one of the principal characteristics of this country.
